What are Due Dates?

Due dates help you track when work needs to be completed. Cards with due dates appear in the calendar view and can trigger notifications as deadlines approach.

Setting a Due Date

  1. Open the card - Click on any card to view its details.
  2. Find "Due Date" - In the card details or action panel.
  3. Click to set date - A date picker opens.
  4. Select the date - Choose the deadline date.
  5. Optionally set time - For specific deadlines.
  6. Due date appears on card - Shows as a badge on the card in board view.

Setting a Start Date

  1. Open the card - View card details.
  2. Find "Start Date" - Usually near the due date field.
  3. Select the start date - When work should begin.
  4. Use with due date - Together they define the work window.

Due Date Status Colors

Cards show different colors based on due date status:

  • Red - Overdue (past the due date)
  • Yellow - Due soon (within 24 hours)
  • Green - Completed on time
  • Gray - Not due yet (future date)

Marking Complete

  1. Click the due date checkbox - On the card or in card details.
  2. Card is marked complete - Due date turns green with checkmark.
  3. Completed timestamp saved - Records when the task was finished.
  4. Uncheck to undo - Click again to mark incomplete.

Due Date Reminders

  • Email notifications - Receive reminders before due dates.
  • Watching a card - Get notified of due date changes.
  • Daily digest - See upcoming due dates in your daily summary.
  • Configure in settings - Adjust notification preferences.

💡 Pro Tips

  • Use the "Due Today" filter to focus on immediate priorities
  • Set start dates for tasks that can't begin until a certain time
  • Use Calendar View (Pro) to see all due dates visually
  • Filter by "Overdue" regularly to catch slipping deadlines
  • Mark cards complete when done, even before the due date
