Labels

Categorize and color-code your cards

What are Labels?

Labels are color-coded tags that help you categorize and organize your cards. They appear as colored strips on cards, making it easy to quickly identify different types of work.

Common uses for labels include marking priority levels, work types (bug, feature, design), teams or departments, and project phases. Each board has its own set of labels.

💡 Pro Tips

  • Keep label names short (1-2 words) for better visibility on cards
  • Use consistent colors across boards for the same concepts
  • Don't create too many labels - 5-10 is usually enough
  • Use labels for filtering to quickly find specific types of work
  • Color-only labels work well when the meaning is obvious (red = urgent)
  • Click on labels on the board to expand them and see names
